Drop Testing for Safety Surfacing
Drop testing, also known as surface impact testing, is a method used to determine the safety of a playground's surfacing. Most of the incidents at playgrounds happen because kids’ fall. Therefore, it is indispensable to make sure the surfacing at any of the playgrounds are up to the latest ASTM standards.
How it works
The test simulates a child falling onto the surface from different heights. The test measures the impact and depth of the surfacing, and provides a numerical rating that indicates whether it passes or fails.
